Our Story

Who was Bamba?

Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba spiritual inspiration behind Bamba Coffee
Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba (1853–1927) was a Senegalese scholar, spiritual teacher, and freedom fighter who founded the Mouride brotherhood. His life’s work centered on peace, discipline, hard work, and devotion to God even in the face of French colonial oppression.
Though exiled for much of his life, his influence only grew stronger, inspiring generations across Senegal and beyond.
One of his lasting cultural contributions was Café Touba—a spiced coffee made with cloves and selim pepper, originally prepared as a source of strength and spiritual focus.
More than a drink, it became a powerful symbol of resilience, unity, and faith in Senegalese culture.

Continuing the Legacy

My name is Sokhna Mbacke. Bamba Coffee isn’t just a brand. It’s a tribute to my heritage.

Growing up, I read about my great-grandfather, Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba. His strength, faith, and leadership inspired me deeply. In our culture, coffee is more than a drink. It’s a way we gather, heal, and pass down tradition.

I started Bamba Coffee to carry that legacy forward. These bold, spiced flavors have been enjoyed for generations in my family, and now I’m sharing them with the world.

Every cup tells a story. Every sip connects the past to the present.

Bamba Coffee carries our roots, rhythm, and resilience. It’s more than a product. It’s a living tradition, and now it’s yours to carry forward.
